Affordable stove types for the SADC region

Improved biomass cookstoves for households are meant to assist women to save fuel, money and time as well as to reduce indoor air pollution. There are various technologies available, suiting the different socio-economic conditions and fuel availability of the households. Selecting the right types should take into consideration existing cooking practices and types of pots traditionally used. Availability of materials and skills in place are important for local stove production. This section shows various tested technologies in the SADC region. It gives links to stove types and on-going stove discussions throughout the world.
