Using a fuel-efficient stove is not the only way of saving fuel
because it may either be used incorrectly or it may not be
addressing the needs of the cooks. Kitchen and fuel management are
additional important techniques that achieve fuelsavings and
improved kitchen environment. These techniques entail, among
others, using dry and small pieces of wood, presoaking of hard
food, using fireless cookers (heat retainers) and correct
positioning of the stove to ensure fresh supply of oxygen for good
combustion and to enable smoke outlet from the cooking
chambers.
