Stove efficiency testing for ‘King stove’ProBEC in partnership with SWADE is testing a newly discovered stove known as ‘King stove’ (picture above) for its efficiency. Results for this test will be known in the beginning of August. SWADE is in the process of procuring wood-efficient stoves, hence the collaboration with ProBEC. In the near future we expect SWADE to be purchasing 134 stoves that are fuel efficient.

One retailer undertakes importation of Stovetec
Cooking demonstrations at Matata store has yielded good results. The store will be importing their first consignment of ten stoves. We look forward to having bigger numbers from this retailer particularly because it is located in the Lowveld which is a region hardest-hit by drought and such a wood-saving stove comes at an opportune time.

Government funds for ProBEC work released to Ministry of Natural Resources
We are looking forward to receiving ZAR 455 000 as Swazi Government contribution to ProBEC work. Internal administrative processes are underway and we expect to access funds before the end of August 2010. This funding will go a long mile in marketing our products and executing a Market Value Chain Analysis on Improved Biomass Stoves in Swaziland.
